Greetings, friends of A Relative Endeavor! Since our blog is all about pursuing creativity in all areas of life, I thought a good way for you all to get to know me AND for me to show you my latest “project” would be to show you my room itself.
Wherever you lie on the spirituality spectrum, every person to some extent develops rituals to cope with the daily strangeness of being alive. (Don’t you have a special rhythm to making your morning coffee or taking a shower? And doesn’t it ruin your morning when you forego it?) Becoming aware of the rituals you already have in place or inventing new ones is a lovely way to bring more creativity and peace into your life. A time in my day where ritual is very important is the few minutes before I turn my lights out and try to go to sleep. So here’s my ritual, and if you’ve never done something like this, I highly suggest you give it a try, and change it up to be your own!
A part of my problem (Elizabeth) in life is that I typically do things before I have properly thought them through. I don't mean massive life decisions...those typically do take a lot of my time, a lot of advice from friends, and pros and cons sheets. No, I mean decisions like: "Can I jump over that?" "Will that catch fire?" "I can lift that by myself, can't I?" and "I should run very fast over there before I notice the large tree stump in my way, right?" All this means that I have a number of good stories if I am willing to share my stupidity with the world. Which, lucky world, I am.
Welcome to A Relative Endeavor! Joanna, Julia, and Elizabeth here. We’re related by being actually related, and related by our mutual love for all things crafty and lovely. We’ve banded together to invite you on an artistic adventure on this blog, where’ we’ll challenge each other and our readers to be boldly creative.
