This week for Elizabeth's challenge, Julia and Joanna challenged her to make something out of wood that she had found on the side of the road or at a thrift store. Here's what she came up with.
Okay, so in general, I hate men's ties. The old-fashioned silky looking bibs that flap down their fronts and are supposed to look classy. Just kidding, I don't care quite that much, but I definitely don't love them and I DO love the new skinny tie look that is coming around and typically seems to be sported on cotton or wool fabrics! I decided to make a couple for Charlie's birthday and they turned out pretty great!
We love the idea of creating crafts out of natural materials, and this DIY was so fun for us to work on together. Basically, we just picked up some twigs from the yard and compiled a bunch of paper/spray paint/yarn/lace and did our thing. It was cool to see how each of our hangings turned out so differently, and reflected who we are as individuals.
Julia and Joanna here. We want to tell you about an adventure we had this fall! In September, the 17 Days Festival brought tons of very indie and very awesome artists to our city of Greensboro. One event listed among hundreds really popped out at me (Joanna) and I asked Julia to come along. So we went to a Crochet Jam.
